On the right we can see the platforms of the bus station for the passengers. Formerly the Parnas Synagogue, founded by Abraham Heilperin (1680-1762), the superior of the yeshiva, the Chief Lublin Rabbi and the penultimate Speaker of the Council of Four Lands, in the second half of the 18th century was located there.Va’ad Arba Aratzot (Council of Four Lands), was an autonomous Jewish Parliament, a unique institution, where representatives of Jewish communities from MaĆopolska (Lesser Poland), Wielkopolska (Greater Poland), Ruthenia and Lithuania decided their affairs. King Stephen Báthory established it in 1581. The Council assembled in Lublin during the winter fair.
