Women's Jewish Gymnasium (Academy) – 24, Revolyutsionnaya Street
Immediately behind the hotel “Livadia '' at 22, Koidanovskaya Street stood the Zalkind apartment house (now at 24, Revolyutsionnaya Street). It was built in 1810 by the bourgeois Alexander Fogel, but at the end of the XIX century it was purchased by the well-off Zalkind family. A little later, in 1910, a private eight-year female Jewish academy was founded here. Two years later, the prestigious Elizaveta Reiman Private Girls’ Gymnasium (Academy) began to operate in this building. In 1913, the gymnasium moved to a glorious mansion, which we will pay a visit to today.
