A Barcelona landmark
Casa Adret
The house represents the many layers of time and change in the city. The balconies seen from the street were added in the 18th century, a third floor was added to the original two floors in the 19th century. Later, Adolf Florensa renovated the balconies (1950s) making them fit the gothic style trending in Barcelona’s aesthetic makeover of the time.
The building was bought in the nineties and underwent a full restoration by well-known Catalan architects Elies Torres and José Antonio Martínez Lapeña in 2000 and the space transformed into a grand single-family house. The external stairs of the property were awarded a FAD price of architecture and the property is regarded as an architectural landmark of the new millennium in Barcelona.
