Now a great place to explore the seaside, this area used to be the industrial hub of Catalonia, particularly with the textiles industry. Textile mills were powered by local water sources, with the area's wide, flat land perfect for laying out large amounts of untreated fabric to naturally bleach in the sun. While industry has definitely left the area, smokestacks and the remains of factories stand as a reminder of its industrial past.
