Cannons displayed around the castle were brought here by the Italians from the fortress of Gjirokastra. They include both Norwegian and British guns. One of them, a British nine-pound naval cannon located at the center of the courtyard, was cast at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich, London, and may have arrived in the region in 1809 as a gift for Ali Pasha of Tepelena.
