The heart of downtown
Singing in the City of Victory
I have been looking for the third actor of our troup. Some of the plays I intend to present further on require his presence, so I frequented the wine shops that are popular with actors searching for the right man. I was hoping to discover fresh talent in the theater but it was closed for repairs. So I walked to the Odeum, conveniently located near the intersection of the city’s main streets. Whoever decided to erect it here definitely knew what he was doing. As I crossed the Forum I was struck by the liveliness of the local politicians, merchants and shop-owners advertising their goods at the top of their voices. A fine introduction to the wonders of the human intonation!
