A boring performance
Singing in the City of Victory
The musical performance tonight was rather subdued, so I was able to turn my attention to the actual building. The bluish-red stone slabs covering the upper surface of the seats were more beautiful than comfortable. I was seated on the tenth row, right next to one of the thirteen rectangular openings where the architect had placed the sounding-boards that enhanced the acoustics and killed my time looking at the place. The orchestra’s colourful marble floor was visible between the heads of the local officials and priests who enjoyed the performance from the comfort of their removable seats set on the three low steps around the orchestra’s perimeter. Where they also bored?
