The Palatine Anthology inspired the artist to create his last work. The anthology is a manuscript including 3,700 ancient and Byzantine epigrams, containing material from the 7th century BC until late 6th century AD. Zongolopoulos was inspired by a verse that can be found in its 6th chapter (Book number 46), written by poet Antipater of Sidon: “Pherenicus, having quitted the wars and the altar, presented to Athene his brazen trumpet, previously the spokesman of peace and war, sending forth a barbarous clamor from its mouth.”
